About Prof. Dr. Konstantinos Papadimitriou

Professor Konstantinos Papadimitriou obtained his medical degree at the University of Athens and was trained in Medical Oncology at the St Savvas Oncology Center in Athens. He has further obtained ESMO accreditation and accreditation of the Hellenic Oncology Academy (HeSMO) in 2009. In 2012 his MD title was also accredited for NHS in UK.

He has clinical experience as a medical oncologist in the University Hospital of Rio-Patra (Greece), in the University Hospital of Larissa (Greece) and  Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center – Cyprus. Since September 2012, he is team member of the department of Medical Oncology of the University Hospital of Antwerp and the breast clinic. Furthermore, since 2016, he is coordinator of the breast MDT meetings and he is coordinating/ participating in the team for oncology daycare unit organisation and onco-healthcare quality group. He is also involved in research with several academic projects in breast cancer, prevention, cancer heredity and oncology care models and he is Primary Investigator and Sub-Investigator in several phase I to phase III commercial clinical trials in breast cancer and gynecological oncology. He also has a position as advisor for breast and gynecological cancers in the Hospitals of AZ Rivierland (campus Bornem) and he is the local coordinator of the oncology care pathway. He is a Clinical Professor within the Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Antwerp and participates in student/ trainees teaching, postgraduate/PhD education. 

Professor Papadimitriou is a member of several national panels and commissions and actively participates in advisory boards for breast cancer and is also editorial board member in oncology scientific journal. Professor Papadimitriou is author/co-author in more than 50 publications in international peer reviewed journals and several abstracts in international congresses.
