About Dr. Hans Dedecker
After obtaining his medical degree in 2015 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Antwerp, Dr. Hans Dedecker completed a six-year training whereby he specialized in gastroenterology and hepatology. During this training, he served as a resident in several hospitals in the region around Antwerp (HHZH Lier, VITAZ, AZ MONICA and University Hospital Antwerp).
Additionally, he completed a fellowship in digestive oncology at the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marc Peeters and Prof. Dr. Hans Prenen from 2021 – 2022. Since October 2022, he works as a full-time staff member at the gastroenterology department of VITAZ and as a part-time consultant at the oncology department of Antwerp University Hospital.
He is a member of the Belgian Group of Digestive Oncology (BGDO) and the Vlaamse Vereniging Gastro-enterologie (VVGE).
