About Dr. Annelies Verbiest
Dr. Annelies Verbiest obtained a PhD in translational cancer research at KU Leuven in 2020, and trained as a medical oncologist in University Hospitals Leuven and Antwerp University Hospital from 2018 to 2022. She currently practices as a medical oncologist in Antwerp University Hospital, where she specializes in urological cancers.
Dr. Verbiest is an elected board member of the Belgian Society of Medical Oncology (BSMO). She has developed expertise in the secondary use of health data, and is involved in several multidisciplinary projects in this field. She is co-chair and founder of the Belgian chapter of the global Obervational Health Data Sciences and Informatics program, as well as of the BSMO e-oncology task force. Besides, she is member of the UZA Data Access Committee and Antwerp Health Harbor expert committee.
